Integrated Power Company NRG Donates Use of 3.5 Acres to MFB

BALTIMORE—NRG, a Fortune 200 company and the leading integrated power company in the U.S., has donated the use of approximately 3.5 acres of land at its Vienna, Maryland plant in Dorchester County to support the food bank’s Farm to Food Bank program. The land will be harvested and managed by Black Gold Farms, an existing partner in the food bank’s Farm to Food Bank program.

Maryland Food Bank Kicks Off Spring 2016 Save A Seat Campaign

Earlier this week, the Maryland Food Bank launched the Spring 2016 Save a Seat at Your Table campaign in an effort to bring together local restaurants and chefs to raise awareness and support for ending hunger in Maryland. On any given day, one in eight Marylanders don’t know where their next meal is coming from, while one in five children across the state don’t have consistent access to nutritious food.
