What Is A Matching Gift?

Many employers have a philanthropic matching gift program, where the company contributes to any non-profit organization chosen by their employees for charitable donations. Matching gift programs vary. Some match dollar-for-dollar, and others double the original donation.

By inquiring about whether your employer will match your gift to the Maryland Food Bank, you’ll help increase awareness of the Maryland Food Bank, and may increase your donation’s impact.

How Do I Get Started with the Matching Gift Program?

STEP 1: Make Your Donation

You can fill out an online donation form to donate directly to the Maryland Food Bank, or send a check or money order to our headquarters: Maryland Food Bank, 2200 Halethorpe Farms Road Baltimore, MD 21227.

STEP 2: Complete Your Employer’s Matching Gift Form

Every employer who participates in a matching gift program has a form. Some companies have paper forms, and others offer online processing. Please contact your manager or human resources representative about matching gifts.

Donating through your employer’s workplace giving campaign is a simple, efficient way to support the Maryland Food Bank’s mission.
