The 2012 Be A Voice: Hunger Action Symposium featured opening remarks by Maryland Lieutenant Governor
Anthony Brown. Joel Berg, author of All You Can Eat: How Hungry is America? and Matt Knott, Interim CEO of
Feeding America gave presentations and then were joined in a panel discussion by Edward Cooney of the
Congressional Hunger Center, Molly McGrath Tierney from the Baltimore City Department of Social Services,
Danise Jones-Dorsey of My Brother's Keeper and our very own CEO, Deborah Flateman.
The day concluded with a session entitled, "Rhetoric to Reality: Grassroots Actions to End Hunger in Maryland."
It featured Deborah Flateman, Joel Berg, Edward Cooney and the Reverend Andre Samuel of Fishes and
Loaves Food Pantry.
